TrueWatch Hosts Technology Leaders Luncheon in Jakarta, Reinforcing Its Position as ASEAN's Leading Observability Platform

Jul 17, 2026 Indonesia

TrueWatch brought together technology leaders from across Indonesia for its Technology Leaders Luncheon in Jakarta, held under the theme "From Signals to Decisions to Action: Why Observability Is the Control Plane for AI-Driven Business." The closed-door session at Hutan Kota by Plataran continued TrueWatch's push to establish itself as ASEAN's leading observability platform, at a moment when cloud complexity and AI adoption are colliding faster than most enterprise teams can keep pace with.

Why observability, why now

Opening the session, Mike Loong, CEO of TrueWatch, laid out the case for why the region's technology leaders can't treat observability as a back-office concern any longer. Every new cloud, service, and AI model adds surface area to monitor. Many enterprises now operate telemetry across multi-cloud environments, and cloud spending is projected to reach about $1.42 trillion by 2029.

At the same time, the cost of failure is also rising: Uptime Institute data indicates that roughly one in five major outages now exceeds $1 million, while AI adoption is adding more operational complexity to already distributed enterprise stacks.

"The moment an agent, or any AI system, is running in production, the question changes from 'can it do the task' to 'do I actually know what it's doing, and can I trust it enough to let it keep going,'" said Mike. "That's not an engineering nice-to-have anymore. That's a board-level question, and it's exactly the gap TrueWatch was built to close."

A platform built for enterprise scale across the region

Agung Darmawan, Indonesia Country Manager at TrueWatch, followed with an executive briefing on what that looks like in practice: one platform correlating every signal, metrics, logs, traces, real-user monitoring, security, and incidents, queried through a single language, so teams stop stitching together tools at 2am. The numbers behind that pitch are part of why TrueWatch has built regional credibility over the past 12 years:

  • 50+ customers worldwide, including regional names like ComfortDelGro
  • 200+ employees, with engineering and SRE teams based across Singapore, China, Indonesia, and Taiwan
  • A partner network spanning Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam, and South Africa
  • Certified to AICPA SOC 2
  • Flexible data residency, with regional or private SaaS deployment inside a customer's own VPC — a growing requirement as more of the region's 167 distinct data-residency and privacy regimes come into force
  • Customers cutting observability costs by as much as 43%, with some cutting costs by roughly two-thirds while ingesting close to three times more data

From signals to decisions to action, with Toby AI

The session's live scenario walked leaders through Toby AI, TrueWatch's AI layer, in two modes: Toby TruePilot, an assistant that works alongside a team in plain language, and Toby AI Agents, autonomous agents that investigate and act with a human approval gate on anything destructive. TrueWatch pointed to its own operations as proof this isn't theoretical. Running Toby AI internally, the company has seen:

  • 30% reduction in multi-cloud cost through AI-identified optimization
  • > 50% faster support engineer response through AI-assisted triage and routing
  • > 30% reduction in MTTR through faster investigation and recovery

Closing the loop with a real business case

The luncheon's business impact debrief grounded the pitch in a live example from the mobility sector, showing how a single technical signal, a booking or payment issue, can be traced in real time to its effect on customers, drivers, and revenue. The message to the room: observability isn't just an IT dashboard, it's a business control system.

TrueWatch closed the session with its throughline for the region: see everything, act faster, stay in control, unified telemetry, in-region data residency, and governed AI working together, rather than as separate purchases.
