OUR PRICING APPROACH

Lower costs start with better design.

One shared pipeline, capacity that scales with demand, and AI-assisted investigation keep our costs down. Our pricing reflects those savings.

Observability bill exploding? See what TrueWatch does differently.

The cost goes beyond the data you collect. Separate pipelines, capacity reserved for peak load and hours spent piecing together incidents all add up. Here’s how TrueWatch tackles each.

What drives observability costs
How TrueWatch approaches it differently

More tools can mean more pipelines to manage.

Separate collectors, processing and storage add infrastructure costs and maintenance work.

One shared pipeline for every signal.

One agent for your telemetry. DataKit collects metrics, logs, traces and more from your hosts, containers and applications, so you run one collector instead of one per tool, with less to maintain.

Peak capacity comes at a cost, even off-peak.

Capacity reserved for the busiest hour can sit idle for the rest of the day. That cost shows up in your cloud bill or your vendor’s pricing.

Capacity scales with demand.

Write compute, read compute and object storage scale independently, reducing the capacity left idle between peaks.

Connecting the dots takes engineering time.

During incidents, switching tools and matching timestamps can take time away from resolving the issue.

Less investigation work for your team.

Toby AI connects evidence from telemetry already in TrueWatch and takes on repetitive investigation tasks.

Unified

Every signal runs through one pipeline

Metrics, logs and traces usually arrive through separate collectors, pipelines and platforms, each with its own ingestion, processing, storage and upkeep. DataKit collects every signal into one shared ingestion and processing layer, so there is less for us to run and less for your team to maintain.

  • Collection. DataKit collects metrics, logs, traces and more, so you run one collector instead of one per tool.

  • Correlation. Infrastructure, logs, APM and RUM data sit in one platform, and trace IDs link logs and RUM data to backend traces.

  • Billing. Daily usage across every product adds up to one monthly bill per workspace.

  • Existing instrumentation. DataKit includes collectors for OpenTelemetry, Datadog tracing libraries, Jaeger, Zipkin and SkyWalking. Once the collector is enabled, you can in many cases, point your existing SDK at DataKit.

Understand what you pay for, day by day

Each product has a published unit price in the Commercial Plan rate card, with usage metered daily and combined into one monthly bill per workspace.

  • See how charges add up. See how charges add up. Each product uses a defined billing unit, such as data points, log entries or traces. The rate card explains what is measured and how it is charged.

  • Keep track as usage changes. Higher billable usage increases that day's charges. Owners and administrators can set spending alerts that email members when total spend or an individual billing item exceeds the threshold you choose.

  • Benefit from efficient infrastructure. One shared pipeline and independently scaling compute and storage reduce idle capacity. Those operating efficiencies are reflected in our pricing.

AI

Spend less time on repetitive investigation with Toby AI

Part of what observability costs is engineers' time, spent correlating signals across tools during an incident. Toby AI helps investigate incidents and handle repetitive work using the telemetry already in TrueWatch.

  • Use the data you already have. Toby AI works with your existing TrueWatch telemetry, with no separate data pipeline to build. Your own AI tools can access it through the OWL CLI and MCP Server.

  • Get a clearer next step. Toby AI TruePilot analyses incident evidence, points to the likely root cause and recommends next steps for your team to review.

  • Delegate routine work. Toby AI Agents triage alerts, correlate evidence across metrics, logs and traces, and recommend next steps, within the boundaries and approvals you set.

FAQ

How does TrueWatch keep costs low?

We bring every signal into one platform and scale processing and storage separately with demand. This reduces idle capacity and keeps operating costs low, with savings reflected in our pricing.
